1990 BMW 328i Touring (Wagon) E30 for sale in Rockville MD

Offered for sale is this absolutely stunning and rare 1990 BMW 328i (E30) Touring. Complete and thorough restomod-build done with a high-level of fit and finish. No detail missed. Finished in classic BMW Alpine White with a custom Black Vinyl and Tartan cloth interior treatment. Cold AC!


This example started life as a UK-market right-hand drive 318i Touring and was subsequently brought to the US to be converted into the ‘ultimate E30 Touring’ by an Atlanta-based Tuning shop.


According to documentation, the car “was converted to left-hand drive with parts from a low-mileage E30 (including a perfect dash). Under the hood is a 2.8 liter M52 inline six [replacing the original 1.8L 4-Cylinder], which was treated to new bearings, a full reseal, S52 M3 cams, Dr. Vanos kit plus a tune built by Mike McCoy with TRM Engineering. The E30 5-speed transmission was retained and is fitted with a single-mass flywheel and a new Sachs heavy-duty clutch. Rebuilt driveshaft plus a 3.23 E28 limited-slip differential. All brakes, wheel bearings, bushings and ball joints have been replaced. New Bilstein shocks were installed with Vogtland springs.”


The exterior has been recently refinished in its original Alpine White and presents in excellent condition. The interior, beyond the Left-hand drive conversion, was reupholstered with a tasteful, but eye-catching treatment of Black Vinyl with Black/Blue Tartan cloth seat inserts, headliner, door card inserts and shift boot. A pair of matching Tartan-patterned plate frames are included as a cherry on top!


The car comes with two set of wheels. Currently mounted are a set of staggered 16” Alpina rep wheels wrapped in Continental tires with 2021 date codes. A set of rare 15” Stinnes gold-faced basketweave wheels with tires mounted are included as an alternated set.


Under current ownership the car has been treated to loving care and regular service along with a couple of additional modifications including: a custom stainless exhaust with Magnaflow muffler, UUC sway bars, Garagistic short shifter and Coco floor mats.


Recent service in January 2022 includes: oil/filter, transmission fluid, diff fluid, new OEM bumper trim, and new tires.


The sale includes: two keys, owner’s manual, wiring diagram, Clean Carfax, records, indoor car cover, BMW mud flaps (not-installed), BMW sunvisor, two license plate holders to match interior, BMW shift knob, and open lug Alpina wheel caps.
