Vehicle Description
This 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV was sold new from Ultimate Motor Works in Longwood, Florida and now shows just under 37k kilometers (~23k miles). The car is finished in Smalto Deep Black over a Nero leather interior and powered by a mid-mounted 5.7-liter V12 that drives the rear wheels through a gated five-speed manual transaxle and factory limited-slip differential. Equipment includes silver SV graphics, 18" multi-piece wheels, Brembo brakes, an adjustable rear wing, a front-axle lift system, back-up camera, a custom stereo system, and more. This Diablo SV is now offered with tools and pouches, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Connecticut title.
The 1998 model year was the final Diablo to feature pop-up headlights, and this example is finished in Smalto Deep Black (231534) with silver SV-scripted vinyl graphics applied to the side panels and scissor doors. The adjustable rear wing features a custom back-up camera lens integrated into the left stanchion as shown in the gallery below, along with close-up photos of the paintwork, trim, and glass.
Three-piece 18" aluminum alloy wheels were produced by OZ Racing and feature polished lips along with black centers with SV logos. At 22k miles, new Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires were fitted that measure 245/35 up front and 335/30 out back and currently show 2018 date codes. The suspension features a hydraulic front lifting system as well as double coilovers in the rear. Braking is handled by orange-finished Brembo calipers with Lamborghini script over drilled rotors. In February 2017, Auto Centro Inc. of Rockville, Maryland rebuilt the front shock absorbers, powder coated the brake calipers, performed a four-wheel alignment and brake fluid flush, and replaced the following components:
-Upper and lower sway bar links and boots
-Front lower control arm bushings
-Left front brake cooling hose duct
The cabin is finished in Nero leather with matching carpets and panels. Carbon fiber trim accents the center console, and amenities include air conditioning, power locks, a tilt airbag steering wheel, Diablo-branded floor mats, and a pop-up Pioneer head unit linked with Alpine speakers and a front trunk-mounted amplifier. White VDO instrumentation includes a 220-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,600-rpm redline, and gauges for oil temperature and pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just under 37k kilometers (~23k miles).
The 5.7-liter V12 saw the introduction of valve timing management for the 1998 model year and produced 530 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a ZF limited-slip differential. Provided service records indicate the following work over the last three and a half years:
-February 2017 — 15k-mile annual service with a battery replacement, air conditioning system service, engine oil and transmission fluid change
-July 2017 — Replaced radiator fans and coolant flush
-June 2018 — Install catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, replace passenger rear fender liner, repair fuel door
-November 2019 — Diagnose ABS warning light and engine fault light
A custom exhaust system is fitted with polished Diablo 6.0 tips. Additional photos of the underbody, suspension, and protective trays are viewable in the gallery.
